Margaret M. Buss

Margaret M. Buss, age 81, of Lake Crystal, died Monday, June 5, 2023.

Memorial Mass 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Lake Crystal.  Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday (TODAY) at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato and will continue one hour before service on Thursday at the church.  Memorials may be given to Holy Family Catholic Church or the donor’s choice.

Margaret was born May 9, 1942, to Adolph and Mayme (Petricek) Faltin in Fremont, Nebraska.  She graduated from Notre Dame Academy in Omaha and Wayne State University with a BA in Education.  She was united in marriage to Marlyn M. Buss on July 11, 1970, in Dodge, Nebraska.  Margaret taught school in the Anoka Public School and New Ulm Public School for two years.  She was a partner with her husband in “Farmfest” for  many years.  She was proud to be a homemaker.  Her home was always open to friends, she enjoyed hosting.  If you came during meal time and left hungry it was your fault.

Margaret was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, bible study group, book club, and the Red Hat Society. Margaret enjoyed attending sporting events, making crafts, lunch with friends, and watching musicals.  She cherished and loved caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spending time with her family.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Marlyn; three children, Vickie (Marcos) Portes, Dan (Stephanie) Buss, and David (Aimee) Buss; seven grandchildren, Kelcie (Dustin) Paxson, Kaela Parsons, Madelyn, Colton, and Jackson Buss, Remmer and Lincoln Buss; three great-grandchildren, Eva, Odessa, and Freyja Paxson; two siblings, Aaron (Doris) Faltin and Eunice Kokrda; sister-in-law, Audrey Buss; nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Bonnie Buss.
