Marilyn R. Barklow, age 81 of Mankato, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Oaklawn Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2020 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Marilyn was born July 6, 1939 in Owatonna, Minnesota to Clarence and Evelyn (Zatochill) Knaak. She was a graduate of Mankato High School in 1957 and received her nursing degree from St. Mary’s Nursing School in Rochester in 1959. Marilyn was united in marriage to Bruce Barklow on August 2, 1959 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato. She spent her nursing career caring for patients at Immanuel Hospital, Blue Earth County and the Psychiatric Clinic of Mankato before retiring in 2002. Marilyn enjoyed spending time with family and friends at their lake home.

 Marilyn is survived by her husband, Bruce of Mankato; three daughters, Laurie (Alan) Rossow, Susan (Michael) Ruch, Melissa “Mitzi” (David) Iverson; five grandchildren, Jenna (Scott) Miller, Marci Rossow (Travis Hammett), Alyssa (Nick) Sorenson, Austin Iverson (Jordan Anderson), Emma Iverson; three great-grandsons, Henry Sorenson, Charles and Everett Miller; sister, Jeanne (Larry) Delabar; three sisters-in-law, Barb (Stan) Hanson, Marleen (Paul) Maas, Patricia (Darell) Gerber; nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and Herb Shottenkirk.
