Mark Reinhard Schell, 72, passed away on November 13, 2025, after a courageous 10-year battle with Multiple Myeloma.

Mark was born on November 22, 1952, in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, to Reinhard and Leone (Revier) Schell. He graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1972 and went on to pursue a degree in printing press technology.

On May 15, 1982, Mark married the love of his life, Yvonne Senkyr, in Redwood Falls. Together they built a beautiful life and welcomed their son, Nathan, in June 1985.

Mark devoted more than 20 years of service to the Redwood County Courthouse. After relocating to Mankato, he continued his dedicated work at Kato Engineering for 10 years before retiring.

Outside of work, Mark had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and meticulously assembling World War I and World War II model aircraft’s and collecting pens and pencils. In retirement, his greatest joy came from spending time with Yvonne, his family, grandchildren and close friends.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Reinhard and Leone Schell, and his brother, Paul Schell.

He is survived by his loving wife Yvonne; son Nathan and daughter-in-law Tina; grandchildren Gavin, Lydia, and Greta; sister-in-law Anne; brothers-in-law Chuck (Jody) and Gordy (Shelly); sister-in-law Deb (Brad); along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who cherished him.

In a final act of generosity, Mark arranged for the donation of his body to the Mayo Clinic, Rochester to aid medical research and help advance the search for a cure for Multiple Myeloma.

A Celebration of life is planned for Saturday November 22nd from 1-4pm at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 N Riverfront Dr, Mankato, MN.
