Mark Weingartz, age 72, of Burnsville, died in his stateroom cruising off the coast of Cabo San Lucas on February 8, 2024.
Mark was born on September 25, 1951, in Mankato, Minnesota to Louis and Katherine (Marka) Weingartz. He graduated from Loyola High School in 1969. On March 17, 1973, Mark was united in marriage to Mary Morrow. He worked for the United States Postal Service for over 30 years.
Mark was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed a lifetime of hunting and fishing, but his greatest joy was time spent with his granddaughter, Sophie.
Mark is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Kristen (Chris French); son, Lance; granddaughter, Sophie Moline; his brother and four sisters; and many nieces, nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and various beloved canine companions.
Memorial Mass will be held on March 16, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
