Marlyss “Marley” R. Johnson, 93, of Mankato passed away on April 26, 2025 at New Perspective Senior Living in Mankato.
Celebration of Life will be 1:00-3:00pm on May 3, 2025 at Epiphany Lutheran Church, Eagle Lake, MN. Private family burial will be at a later date. Memorials preferred to Epiphany Lutheran Church, Eagle Lake.
Marley was born August 16, 1931 in Lake Crystal, MN to Calvin E. and Martha H. Rollings (Thompson). She graduated from Lake Crystal High School. In 1954, Marley married John “Jack” Johnson and to this union, four children were born, Jerry, Jim, Judy, and Joe. Marley and Jack owned and operated Jack’s Body Shop and later J & J Auto Crushing.
Marley was a member of the Epiphany Lutheran church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, teaching quilting classes at the church, having lunch and travelling with friends, and her Saturday breakfast group. Marley was well known for saying “Be Marley Nice”. She was the best grandma and great-grandma ever!
Marley is survived by her daughter, Judy Kerr (Dave), sons Jerry and Jim Johnson, 5 grandchildren, Ashley Johnson (Nate), Megan Kerr (Rob), Jenni Kerr (Clint), Nick Johnson, Haley Johnson (Miguel), 7 great grandchildren, sister, Barb Youell, brother, Clayt Rollings, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jack Johnson, son, Joe Johnson, brothers Rich and Fred Rollings, sister-in-law, Bev Hultengren, and brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Phyllis Johnson.
