Mary Lee Burt

Mary Lee Burt, age 82, of Mankato passed away on October 20, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m., on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Mankato Mortuary, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.

Mary was one of 11 children born June 24, 1941, to Herbert & Olivia (Hoehn) Melchior. She grew up in Madison Lake MN and graduated from Good Counsel Academy High School in Mankato. Mary was united in marriage to David Burt on April 23, 1960. Together they had two children Melody & Michael. Mary worked much of her years at various Mankato businesses before retiring. One of Mary’s passions was playing cards with her family and her Thursday card group at the mall. She loved watching the Twins, Lynx and Timberwolves. 

Mary is survived by her daughter, Melody Burt; grandchildren, Adam and Alex; great-granddaughter, Remi; siblings, Bob (Jan) Melchior, Cookie (Richard) Lemcke, Colleen (Tom) Cole, Lenny (Dail) Melchior, Steve (Brenda) Melchior; sister-in-law, Gloria Blakesley, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, David; son, Mike Burt; parents, Herbert and Olivia Melchior; siblings, Tom Melchior, Phyllis Johnson, Sharon Anderson, Gene Melchior, and James Melchior.
