Michael John Duff

Michael John Duff, age 70, of North Mankato, died on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at his home after a long battle with liver disease and cancer. 

Michael was born on July 31, 1952 in Mankato to Harold and Rosella (Possin) Duff.  Mike lived in Mankato his entire life.  He loved spending summers working on his Uncle Ed and Aunt Francis Jacobs farm in Hartley, IA until graduated from Mankato High in 1970. Mike made many wonderful childhood memories with his cousins on his mother’s side.  On September 29, 1984, Michael was united in marriage to Patty Barclay in Mankato.  He was a proud and loyal card-carrying member of Local 49 operating engineers for over 30 years. 

Mike is survived by his wife, Patty of North Mankato; children, Maggie (Daniel) Campe of Bloomington and their children, Eva and Luisa, Patrick Duff of New York, NY, Katy Duff of Eagle Lake and her children, Leighton, Declyn, and Taryn, and Dr. Ryan Duff of Tacoma, WA; sister, Bonnie (Edward) Russell of Tempe, AZ; special friends, Greg Stephens, Dick Lyons, and Mike Rstom; and close cousins, Connie Puhrman, Ken and Gene Braam, and Candace Lyman.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Marjorie Krause and Patty (Roger) Swearengen. 

Memorial Service will be held Sunday, January 22 at 1:00 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Northview.  Memorials are preferred to Mayo Hospice, Mayo Liver Transplant Center, and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
