Norma J. Preston

Norma Jean Preston, age 95, of Mankato, died January 10, 2026.

Funeral Service 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 16, 2026, at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, January 15, at Northview and one hour before the service on Friday. Interment will be in Medo-McPherson Cemetery, rural Beauford, Minnesota.

Memorials may be given to the Medo-McPherson Cemetery Association.

Norma was born October 24, 1930, to Martin H. and Marion A. (Sharp) Potz in Mankato. She attended Mankato Public School. Norma was united in marriage to Delmar C. Preston at the First Presbyterian Church in Mankato in 1949. Together, they raised their four children and taught them value of hard work.

Norma was a 4 H Leader, active with her Neighborhood Ladies Club and Extension Group. She was an active member of Zion United Methodist Church in St. Clair until its closing and then Hilltop United Methodist Church in Mankato. Norma was a member of the St. Clair American Legion Post #475 Auxiliary and the Medo-McPherson Cemetery Association.

Norma enjoyed growing flowers, hostas, sewing, making art and crafts, quilting, and was an avid reader.

Norma is survived by her four children, Kurt (Cathy) of Mapleton, Scott (Cindy) of Janesville, Colleen (George) Seys of Mankato, and Linda (Mike) Peters of Janesville; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Kathy Fleming and Dean (Deanna) Potz; nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delmar in 2014; and two brothers, Harlan and Gerald “Tony” Potz.
