Norman L. Prins, age 93, of North Mankato, died Thursday, August 14, 2025.

Memorial Service 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 22, 2025, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Mankato. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m., Friday at the church. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Mankato. Memorials may be given to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Norman was born September 12, 1931, to Tebbo and Jeanette (Finger) Prins in Delton Township, Cottonwood County, Minnesota. Norman was confirmed at Jeffers Methodist Church. He graduated from Jeffers High School in 1949.

Norman served his country with the US Army from 1952-54 and was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky as a Communication Instructor.

Norman was united in marriage to Ruth M. Luckhardt on March 16, 1956.

Norman was employed by International Trucks for over 26 years, then as a truck driver for Ruan and SMC from which he worked till retirement.

Norman was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where he had served as a trustee and usher. He could fix anything and used his skill helping his family, friends, and church.

Norman is survived by his wife, Ruth; five children, Cynthia Prins of Hamilton, Montana, Gary (Debbie) Prins of St. Peter, Susan (Mel) Hendrickson of North Mankato, Sharon Prins (Kenny Felmlee) of Le Sueur, and Lynn (Richard) Schimmel of Farmington; twelve grandchildren, Grace (Wesley) Lin, Ethan (Kellie) Prins, Rose Prins, Hunter Prins, Nathan (Darcy) Chapman, Charlie, Andrea, Alex, and Jacquelyn Gilman, Kelly (Chad) Foslien, John Schimmel, and Eric Schimmel; eleven great-grandchildren, Felix Lin, Madison Chapman, Jasper Leiferman, Jocelynn Chapman, Amelia Chapman, Kendall Schoch, Robert Johnson, AJ Gilman, Connor Foslien, Ty Foslien, and Lily Foslien; brothers, Kenneth (Shirley) Prins of Jeffers and Richard Prins of Roseville; brothers-in-law, Jack Ryker of Jeffers and Vernon Luckhardt of Bloomington; nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Adam Gilman; siblings, Clyde (Bonnie) Prins, LaDonna (Myron) Eucken, Robert (Marge) Prins, Marvin (Mary Lou) Prins, Bernice Ryker, Beatrice (David) Vining, Arlene (Arlen) Meyer, and Janet Prins.
