Pamela "Pam" Esther Ness

Pamela “Pam” Esther Ness, age 71, of North Mankato passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at home surround by her family, due to complications from Parkinson’s Disease. A celebration of life will be held from 1-4 p.m., on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at the Wheeler Park Pavilion, North Mankato. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Pam was born to David and JoAnn Gretz on November 29, 1950, in Mankato, Minnesota. She graduated from Wilson High School in 1969. Pam later went on to earn her two-year business degree from SCTC. On August 15, 1981, Pam was married to her husband of 40 years, Terry Ness, in a beautiful Lakeside ceremony at the Gretz family cabins on Madison Lake.

Pam spent her career in the hospitality industry. She worked for 20-plus years at Maggie's Restaurant up on Stadium hill, where she developed lifelong friendships and loyal regular customers. She had a passion for music (especially the local Mankato music scene), planning friend and family get-togethers at her home and family lake cabin, taking pictures, watching the Vikings on Sunday, and spending time with her husband visiting friends and family in southern Florida. Pam loved to go all out for the holidays, especially when it came to decorating her home. She loved watching her boys participate in sports, and later in life watching her grandkids participate in sports and school plays. She loved spoiling her grandkids and having them spend time at grandma and grandpa's house. Pam's faith was also essential to how Pam lived her life daily. Pam was raised in the Catholic Church but found comfort and belonging in the Mormon Faith later in life.

Pam is survived by her husband, Terry Ness; children, Justin (Mary) Gretz, and Cody Ness; grandchildren, Dylan Ness, Alexey Ness, Sloan Gretz, Reese Gretz; siblings, Patrick Gretz, Jeff (Kate) Gretz, Melissa (Mike) Goodell, Tina Gretz; sister-in-law, Doris Gretz; pet dog, Prince, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dylan; siblings, Mike Gretz, and Theresa Wolske.
