Patricia Alma Stelter, 71, passed away unexpectedly at her home on March 3, 2026.
Funeral will be held on Sunday, March 29th at 2:00 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church Mankato. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28th from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary with visitation one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Patty will be laid to rest privately at a later date.
Patty was born on December 27, 1954 to Earl and Agnes (Bode) Moeri in Mankato, Minnesota. She grew up in rural Nicollet where she attended church and grade school at Trinity Lutheran. In 1972, Patty graduated from Nicollet Highschool.
After highschool, Patty attended Mankato Vocational School to become a registered nursing assistant, a profession she took great pride in and excelled at for over forty years. She began her career at Union Hospital in New Ulm and continued in Saint Peter Minnesota at various assisted living facilities throughout her life. Her strong work ethic led to her also working two part time jobs along with her full time CNA employment.
In September of 1979, Patty was united in marriage to Paul Stelter. Although they would later go their separate ways, their sixteen year union blessed them with three children: Nathan, Joshua, and Meghan.
After retirement, Patty focused on interests like baking, trying new recipes, thrifting, planting flowers, watching baseball and doing word searches with endless pots of coffee, and getting together with old friends. She especially enjoyed her eight grandchildren. Patty rarely missed an opportunity to see them or be supportive of their activities. She never forgot a birthday or to send a greeting card for every holiday.
Her kind and generous nature extended past her family always being more comfortable to give rather than to receive. She never hesitated to extend a helping hand or do something simply to brighten someone's day.
Patty is survived by her children: Nathan Stelter, Joshua (Jaclyn) Stelter, and Meghan (Joshua) McClain; eight grandchildren: Samantha, Brooklyn, and Claire Stelter, Elizabeth and Felicity Stelter, and Madelyn, Norah, and Emmett McClain; one sister in law Jeanne Moeri, and many extended family and good friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Loren.
