Patricia Ann Zimmerman

Mankato

Patricia Ann Zimmerman, age 91, of Mankato, died on August 10, 2025 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.

A private family graveside service was held at Woodland Hills Memorial Park.

Pat was born on May 17, 1934 in Minneapolis to Maurice and Evelyn (Mack) O’Mara. She went to many schools when she was young, but her fondest memories were of attending elementary school at a one-room schoolhouse in Taunton. She later graduated from Marshall High School in 1952. Over the years, Pat would often tell stories about growing up on her grandparents’ farm in Ivanhoe, surrounded by extended family. Farm life instilled in her the value of hard work and the importance of family connections. After high school, she moved to Mankato, where she met her husband, Roger Zimmerman. Pat and Roger were united in marriage on October 11, 1958 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Together, they were blessed with four children. Pat was a supportive mother who participated in her children’s clubs and activities. They remember her as a resourceful cook who could stretch one can of tuna into a meal for six. After all of her children started school, Pat worked as a home health aid through Blue Earth County for many years. As founding members of the Auto Restorers Club of Southern Minnesota, Pat and Roger could often be seen cruising around town in a classic convertible. Pat loved a good thrift store treasure, a good cup of coffee, sitting out in her yard, tending her summer flowers, and spending time with her pets.

Left to celebrate her memory are her children, Shelly (Mark) Lillo of Good Thunder and son, Jeremiah Lillo (Harriet Labs) of Mankato, Lisa Zimmerman of Mankato, Barry Zimmerman of Mankato, and Katy Macgregor of Mankato and daughter, Jace Lancaster of St. Paul; sister, Maureen Walenski of Waterford, MI; aunt, Donna Schaffer of West Milton, OH; brother-in-law, Tom (Judy) Zimmerman of Southaven, MS; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger in 2024; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and in-laws.

Pat’s family wants to extend their appreciation to the staff and residents at Water’s Edge Assisted Living, Mankato Clinic, and Mayo Clinic Health System.
