Phyllis D. (Mielke) Olsen

Phyllis D. Thom Mielke Olsen, age 97, passed away on February 20, 2025.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring of 2025 to be announced.

Phyllis was born on August 24, 1927, to August and Esther (Kettner) Thom. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Nicollet, MN. A 1945 graduate of Nicollet High School, she married Ervin C. Mielke on April 10, 1947, in Glencoe, MN. They had 4 children, Deborah, Brian Scott, Lori, and Brenda. Phyllis worked 45 years in retail, the last 18 years at Brett’s. After Ervin’s passing, Phyllis married Robert V. Olsen of Nicollet on August 23, 1986. Phyllis loved God, family, friends, gardening, dancing, music, traveling, bridge, sunshine, Applebee’s and Life!

Phyllis was preceded in death by an infant son, Brian Scott; husband, Ervin C. Mielke; brothers, Donald (Irene) (Orloene), Gene, Edward, Wallace (Shirley); husband, Robert V. Olsen.

Survived by daughters, Deborah (Dennis) Holdsworth, Lori (Bob) Gilmore, Brenda K. Mielke; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Maxine Thom, Norma Mielke; step-children, Kathy (Dick), Denny (Beth), Oren (Julie), Carmen, Todd (Ruth); many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
