Rachel Scheurer, age 56, of Mankato, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

A Funeral Mass celebrating Rachel’s life will be held on October 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato. Visitation will take place at the church from 10:00–11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rachel was born on January 27, 1969, in Mankato to Dean E. Bennett and Carmel A. (O’Rourke) Bennett. She grew up with a deep love for family and faith, values that guided her throughout her life. Rachel graduated from St Clair High School and went on to create a life.

Rachel had a gift for making a house a home. She loved gardening, cooking, and searching for treasures while thrifting. But her greatest joy came from gathering with her family—whether it was around the dinner table, celebrating holidays, or simply spending time together. She had a kind heart, a generous spirit, and a way of making everyone laugh with her bright sense of humor. she would light up a room.

Rachel is survived by her husband, Dave; her sons, Anthony Austin Garcia and Andrew Lucas Garcia; her father, Dean E. (Lisa A.) Bennett; and her many siblings, Luann (Thomas) Freitag, Kim Laughter, Teresa Ehrlicher, Brent (Angie) Thoreson, Jennifer Bennett (Tim Graves), Brenda Weyhrauch, Bradley Bennett, Jeff (Michelle) Bennett, Elizabeth Bennett, and Katie (Jeremiah) Morsching. She is also remembered by her father-in-law, Daniel Scheurer and his wife Sylvia Scheurer ; sister-in-law, Kristin Scheurer; brother-in-law, Duane, and his wife; Maggie Scheurer; and her many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will carry her memory in their hearts.

Rachel was preceded in death by her mother, Carmel Bennett; brother, Nicholas D. Bennett; her grandparents; brother-in-law, Chad Weyhrauch; uncle, Steve Bennett and mother-in-law, Sharon Scheurer.

Those who knew Rachel will remember her as a woman of deep love, quiet strength, and unwavering kindness. Her presence was a blessing, and the legacy of her care and compassion will continue to live on in the lives she touched.
