Ray Funk

Ray died 05-31-2021. He is survived by wife, Judy; step-children, Theresa and Troy, nieces, nephews, their families and many friends.

Albert Raymond Funk, age 78, of Mankato, died May 31, 2021 at Mayo Health System-Mankato.

A private family graveside service will be held with a friends and family gathering at a later date.

Ray was born on December 29, 1942 in Helena, Montana. He married Judith “Judy” (Miller) Lundgren on February 8, 1997 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and made their home in Mankato. Besides repairing engines and being a machinist, Ray ran his own company and met many people that have become lifelong friends.

Ray enjoyed NASCAR racing, camping, and antique car shows, where he showed off his burgundy 51 Ford. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Funk; stepson, Troy (Holly) Lundgren, Galesburg, IL; stepdaughter, Theresa (Jeff) Wilcox, Bemidji; two step-grandchildren, Erin Lundgren and Logan Wilcox; several nieces, nephews and their families; special nephew, Dick Raimann, Wells; a great friend, Allen Mohr, North Mankato; and his two canine buddies, Gracie and Rex. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Kay; and brother, Dan.
