Richard T. Flynn

Richard Thomas Flynn, age 92 of Isle and formerly of St. James, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

Richard Thomas was born August 8, 1933 in River Falls, WI to Albert and Margaret (Lovell) Flynn. He enlisted in the US Air Force December 30, 1950 and was honorably discharged October 23, 1953. He worked as a grain inspector for the state of MN, sold insurance for a short time, and then returned to working as a grain inspector until retirement. He also volunteered his time driving veterans to appointments. Richard was united in marriage to Peggy June Peters on July 9, 1955 at the Little Brown Church in Iowa. He enjoyed trips to the casino, traveling, spending time with his family, and especially time at his cabin. He was also a proud conservative. 

Left to remember Richard are his children: Patricia (Lynn) Smith, Michelle (Samuel) Watkins, and Shane (Denise) Flynn; daughter-in-law Donna Flynn; grandchildren: Jesse (Laura) Flynn, Jamie Smith, Richard (CrystaL) Smith, Kelly (Noel) Smith, Joseph Smith, Allen (Arika) Watkins, Jo Ann (Aaron) Markgraf, Kolten Flynn, Madison Flynn, Jennifer Flynn, Kory Flynn, and Austin Abrahamson; many great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law Marlene Flynn; and special friend Darlene Poole. 

Preceding him in death are his wife, Peggy; son, Kelly; grandchild, Larramy; parents, Margaret and Albert; sister Betty, and Brother Phillip.
