Richard Alexander Turtle

Richard Turtle, age 83, of Mankato, died February 10, 2024, at Mayo Health System-Mankato.

Visitation will be from 11-1 pm, Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Mankato Mortuary with a graveside service at Woodland Hills Memorial Park immediately following. Memorials are preferred to an organization of the donor’s choice.

Richard Alexander and his twin sister, Donna Mae, were born September 25, 1940, in Mankato to William J. and Ruby (Mann) Turtle. Dick was a lifelong resident of Mankato, was previously employed at the Minnesota State Hospital, St. Peter and various jobs through MRCI.

Dick was united in marriage to Sharon King in 1991 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in North Mankato. Dick and Sharon enjoyed going to the movies, restaurants, listening to music, and going for drives in the countryside.

Dick is survived by sisters-in-law, Mary Jean Turtle of Mankato, Bea Turtle of Rhode Island, Erma Turtle of Gibbon; brother-in-law, John Yee of Pennsylvania; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; twin sister, Donna Mae at birth; wife, Sharon in 2011; seven siblings, Dorothy Otto, Carmen Heinze, William L. Turtle, Quentin Turtle, Dennis Turtle, Nancy Rolfs, and Joan Yee; and three brothers-in-law, Arnold ‘Booty’ Otto, LeRoy Heinze, and Arvin Rolfs.
