Robert “Bob” L. Meyer, age 85, longtime resident of North Mankato, died Wednesday, October 27, 2021.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 1, 2021, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, North Mankato. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the church on Monday. Interment with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Memorials may be given to VINE Faith in Action (https://vinevolunteers.com/about/giving-opportunities/) or the Knights of Columbus (https://www.facebook.com/kofc5551/ or https://www.kofc.org/secure/en/donate/index.html). Northview – North Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Robert was born November 9, 1935, to William and Minnie (Fausch) Meyer in Fairmont, MN. He graduated from Fairmont High School and Mankato State College. He worked as a public accountant in Fairmont, Minneapolis, and Mankato, retiring in 2003.
He married Ramona “Dolly” Ulman in 1965 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mankato. They had four children, Thomas, James, Susan, and William.
Bob spent eight years in the Army Reserve during and after college. He started square dancing in college and was a square dancer and an officer in three local square dance clubs.
Bob was an active member of the North Mankato Knights of Columbus and a fourth degree Knight. He enjoyed being on the K of C bowling team. He spent many hours as a committee member of the Cub and Boy Scouts, a volunteer driver for VINE Faith in Action, Mankato, logging in over 100,000 volunteer miles, and was an usher at Holy Rosary Catholic Church for 40 years.
Bob is survived by his children, Tom (Lynn), Jim (Naoko), Susan McLeod, and Bill (Cheryl); grandchildren, Carrie, Tom, Ryker, Syrena, Sommer, and Madison.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dolly on June 17, 2021; and two sisters, Carol Meyer and Lois Stuart.
