Robert Lee Hagemann

August 21, 1960 — February 28, 2024

Mankato, MN

Robert Lee Hagemann, 63, of Mankato, MN passed away suddenly on Wednesday the 28th of February, 2024 of natural causes.

Bob was born August 21, 1960 to Lloyd and Lillius “Lil” Hagemann in Mankato, MN. After attending high school at Mankato East, he joined the US Army Reserves. During this time, he also attended classes in automotive repair. Later, he decided he’d rather his love for cars remain a hobby and turned his professional goals towards becoming an electrician like his father.

On June 19, 1981, Bob married his high school sweetheart, Julie Renne, in a beautiful ceremony at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Mankato. Shortly after, Julie and Robert greeted their first child, Melissa, on June 6, 1982. Their second child, Kari, came to them on December 14, 1984 followed by their third child, Chad, on September 12, 1990. Bob and Julie enjoyed 42 years of marriage together.

Bob enjoyed over 30 years working as an electrician for the Union IBEW Local 343 before turning his attention to job site safety as a construction safety coordinator. During his many years in the construction industry, he assisted on several major builds, including the Twins stadium, the Mall of America, and the Mayo Clinic of Rochester to name a few. Unfortunately, Robert was forced to leave this line of work for health concerns. He soon found a fit with CFS of North Mankato as a maintenance technician. He spent ten years with CFS before retiring in July of 2023.

In his down time, Bob enjoyed many hobbies outdoors. He had a great love for hunting that he eagerly shared with his three children, taking them along on many of his adventures. Bob’s favorite thing to hunt was deer, but he also enjoyed his time hunting wild fowl, such as pheasant, duck, and turkey. Bob’s enjoyment of the outdoors didn’t stop at hunting. He also enjoyed spending time on the lake, whether in a boat or on the ice, with a fishing pole in hand. When the fish weren’t biting, he’d play a round on the golf course, where he’d spend as much time conversing with friends as he did playing the game.

Robert is survived by his wife, Julie of Mankato, MN; children, Melissa (Jeremy) Collins, Kari (Ryan) Guggisberg, and Chad Hagemann; sister, Beverly Brubaker; brother, Jeff Hagemann; grandchildren, Peyton and Parker Collins; his dog, Benelli; and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Hagemann in 2014; Lillius Hagemann in 2001; brothers, Mike Hagemann in 2017 and Lyle Hagemann in 1998; brother-in-law, Ron Brubaker in 2014; and nephew, Mike Hagemann, Jr. in 2016

Memorial service will be held at 12pm, Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary with visitation two hours prior.
