Roxanne Marie Schultz

Our beloved mom went to sleep on April 28th, 2026 and woke up with the Lord. Though we will forever miss her love, her laugh, her creativity, and her advice, she is no longer chained by pain and infirmity but is dancing in Heaven with her first love -- God. 

Roxanne was born on October 24th, 1938 and grew up in the Le Sueur/Henderson area. She married her high school sweetheart Gordon in April of 1960 and graduated Nursing school at Swedish Hospital. She worked in many professions, including as an Obstetric RN, Editor and around Gopher at the Mapleton Enterprise, and as a medical transcriptionist. 

But the job she excelled at was 'Mom'. Her personality was a quiet one, but it was large, and the lessons she taught us were strength, compassion, understanding, and independence. She was shy but goofy and full of God's love and grace, and every word and action showed it. 

Mom's biggest passion was her life in Christ. She was a lifelong practicing Christian, Pray Warrior, and the Inspiration for the women we needed to be. Music was also a large part in her life; she played Bluegrass and Gospel music at churches and Nursing Homes, including Pathstone back when it was the Mankato Lutheran Home. She sponsored those she could, including Native American children at St. Joseph's Indian School in South Dakota, the Disabled American Veterans, St. Jude, March of Dimes, and more. 

Roxy also loved to create with her hands. She made latch hook rugs, gardened, taught ceramics, made miniatures, and knew so many types of handiwork including crocheting, sewing, hardanger and even tatting. She was known as a 'Happy Hooker', a 'Knit-Wit', and a 'Mini-ac', to list a few. 

Roxanne was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, son Kevin, brother Glen, and parents Wilfred and Eva Preuhs. She is survived by daughters Robin Zinke and Rhoda Schultz, sister Shari and husband Ed Nytes, and many nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends are invited to attend her Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 1st. Visitation will be from 1pm to 3pm, services to follow in the Chapel at Pathstone Nursing Home. We chose this location because of the three years spent there with the residents, the wonderful aides, nurses and all the staff who took care of her, loved her, and were loved by her.
