Sandra "Sandi" Lee Phillips

Sandra Lee "Sandi" Phillips, age 80, of Sparta, WI and formerly of rural St. Clair, died Wednesday, June 8, 2022.

Sandi was born December 8, 1941, in St. Paul Minnesota to Roger Benjamin and Violet Eleanor (Johnson) Nolan.  She graduated from Mankato High School in 1959.  On June 3, 1961, she married the love of her life, Norman Henry Phillips in Mankato, MN.  Together they raised their family and farmed in the rural St. Clair area until 2001.  Norman has been patiently waiting for her, and they are now dancing together in heaven.

Over the years, Sandi worked at Immanuel-St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato, Janesville Nursing home, St. Clair Public Schools and was an Avon Representative.  She enjoyed reading, sewing, dancing, music/singing, playing cards and late night conversations.  Her family and faith were the most important thing to her, and she had a love for teaching Sunday School for many years.

Sandi is survived by her 4 children,  Brenda (Tim) Phillips of Rochester, MN, Debbie (Jeff) Schweim of Mankato, MN, Todd Phillips of Mankato, MN, and Cindi (Darrin) Groskreutz of Tomah, WI; she is also survived by her grandchildren,  Joshua (Jackie) Schweim of Eagle Lake, MN, Benjamin (Jolene) Schweim of Big Lake, MN, Dustin Groskreutz of La Crosse, WI, and Logan Groskreutz of Tomah, WI; great-grandchildren, Conner, Cora, Henry, Brady, and Larissa; siblings, Judy (Gerald) Schmidt Meany of Isle, MN and Greg (Kim) Nolan of Crystal, MN; and 4 nieces and a nephew.

Sandi was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Henry Phillips, in 2002; her parents, Roger Benjamin and Violet Eleanor Nolan; brother-in-law, Richard Schmidt; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Arline and Henry Phillips and other beloved extended family members.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to Mayo Clinic Hospice, La Crosse, WI and Bridgepath Memory Care of Sparta, WI.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 13, 2022, at Hosanna Lutheran Church, Mankato. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 11 a.m., Monday prior to the service at the church. Interment in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, St. Clair.  Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society, to Mayo Clinic Hospice out of Sparta, WI, or a charity of your choice.
