Sharon Anderson

Sharon Marie (Melchior) Anderson, age 82, of Eagle Lake, died on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at her home.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 N Riverfront Dr., in Mankato with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Eagle Lake Cemetery.

Sharon was born on October 13, 1938 to Herbert John and Olivia Margarette (Hoehn) Melchior, the third eldest of eleven children, in LeRoy Township, Blue Earth County. She graduated in 1956 from Loyola High School in Mankato. Sharon was united in marriage to Alan E. Anderson at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake on August 3, 1957. Together they raised three children.

Sharon worked for many years in Mankato and retired from Truth Hardware in Owatonna. Sharon’s greatest joy and treasure was family and was a devout Catholic with a strong faith.

Sharon is survived by her three children, Shari (Tim) Earnest of Vadnais Heights, Minnesota, Al “Andy” Anderson, and Paul Anderson; grandchildren, Alissa Miller and her daughter, June; Sharon (James) Silda and their children, Quinn and James; Chet (Jennifer) Anderson and their children, Ty, Bode, and Wesley; Emilee Anderson, Kellie Anderson, Christopher (Jeneva) Anderson and their children, Kaydyn and Chad; Nicole (Jeremy) Bohr, Jessie (Casey) Whitney and their children, Oakley and Kaylie; and siblings, Mary Burt,  Robert (Janice) Melchior,  Cookie (Richard) Lemke, Colleen (Thomas) Cole,  Lenice (Dail) Melchior, and Steven (Brenda) Melchior.

She was Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alan in 2006; daughter-in-law, Dawn Anderson; and siblings, Thomas Melchior, Phyllis Johnson, Eugene Melchior and James Melchior.
