After bringing love, kindness, and light into the world for 83 years, Sharon Kaye Kendall passed away peacefully at her home in St. Peter, Minnesota on Thursday, May 28, 2026.
Sharon was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Herbert and Ida Eisenbraun on February 23, 1943. She was one of seven children, including her twin sister, Shirley. She and Shirley were inseparable through grade school, always in the same class. After graduating in 1960, Sharon moved to New Orleans, where she met the love of her life, James Kendall.
Sharon and James were married on February 26, 1966. Together they welcomed two children, Brad and Deb. James was later drafted into the military and stationed in Germany. The family spent three years there before returning to the United States. They settled in Texas, where Sharon worked as a courtesy booth manager at a grocery store for more than 20 years. In 2000, Sharon and James relocated to Minnesota to be closer to their beloved grandchildren.
A devoted member of Winthrop Covenant Church for many years, Sharon's faith remained steadfast throughout her life. She began each day by reading her Bible and completing her Portals of Prayer devotion. Her faith carried her through life's challenges and inspired the strength, resilience, and grace for which she was known.
Sharon's greatest joy was her family. She devoted countless hours to supporting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending their activities, celebrating their accomplishments, and sharing stories about them with anyone who would listen. She was immensely proud of each of them and cherished every moment spent together.
An avid sports fan, Sharon loved watching nearly any sporting event, but especially cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, Timberwolves, and Lynx. When she wasn't rooting for her favorite teams, you could often find her at happy hour, enjoying popcorn and a glass of wine, or happily doing the “twist”.
Sharon was known for her kind heart and selfless nature. From opening her home to those in need, to caring for James throughout his cancer journey, to always being available with a listening ear, she gave generously of herself to others. The love and compassion she shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Ida; her husband, James; her sister, Dodi; and her brothers, Bob and Charlie. She is survived by her twin sister, Shirley; brothers Kenny (Patty) and Larry (Judy); son, Brad (Jessica); daughter, Deb (Mike); grandchildren, Monica (Zach), Michael (Ana), Kayla, and Nikki (Austin); and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immeasurable joy.
