Shirley Jaeger, 91 of Mapleton, died Monday, June 3, 2024 at the Mapleton Community Home.
Visitation will be held from 5-7pm, Thursday, June 6, 2024 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mapleton. Funeral service will be 11am, Friday, June 7, 2024 at church with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery.
The family prefers memorials to be directed to either St. John’s Lutheran Church (104 Central Avenue North, Mapleton, MN 56065) or Shirley’s cat food fund.
Shirley was born May 20, 1933 in Mankato to John “Jack” and Gladys (Jordahl) McGregor. She was united in marriage to Robert Jaeger on March 21, 1951 at the United Church of Mapleton during the middle of a snowstorm. She and Bob were blessed with seven children.
Described as feisty, loving, and social, Shirley loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards and pressing her luck at the casino. In her earlier years, she and Bob enjoyed dancing, bowling, playing cards with neighbors, snowmobiling, planning summer fishing trips, and traveling to various places, including Alaska and Hawaii. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She’ll be forever missed.
Survivors include her children, Greg Jaeger of Mapleton, Christy (Dennis) Ebeling of Owatonna, Randy Jaeger of Mapleton, Todd (Lisa) Jaeger of Mapleton, Terry Jaeger of Minnesota Lake, Quint (Tami) Jaeger of Mapleton; grandchildren, Lonny, Jessica (Josh), Mara (Josh), Kira (Greg), Chris, Hailey, Courtney, Mitchell, and Kelsey; many great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Arlo (Sandy) Jaeger; and sister-in-law and her husband, Nancy and Jerry Clausen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jaeger; son, Ronald Jaeger; parents, Jack and Gladys McGregor; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Donna McGregor; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Lloyd Woltz; and daughter-in-law, Julie Jaeger.
