Steven Kenneth Michael, 73, of Mankato, died unexpectedly at his home in Mankato on Thursday, June 15, 2023.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Mankato Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements – www.mankatomortuary.com

Steve was born November 2, 1949 in Hutchinson, MN to Kenneth and Margaret (Quirk) Michael. He was raised and attended grade school in Kasota. After high school, he moved to Genoa, IL. In 1969, he was drafted into the Army. He was stationed in Germany until being honorably discharged in 1971. He then lived in Madison, WI for many years until moving to Mankato.

Steve is survived by 8 sisters, Sharon Warning of St. Peter, Rosemary (Tony) Shanks of Bloomington, Patsy (Dave) Dauffenbach of Anoka, Colleen Michael of St. Paul, Peggy (Rick) Walter of Cleveland, Barb (Michael) Conroy of St. Peter, Joann (Mike) Vaughn of Cleveland, and Lisa (Shannon) Horblit of Wheatland, WY; 2 brothers, Mark (Bev) Michael and John Michael, both of Cleveland.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Greg Michael in 2021; and 2 sisters, Cheryl Michael in 1958 and Paula Michael in 2021.
