Terry Chesney

Terry D. Chesney, age 79, of Lake Crystal, died on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.

Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Crystal. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be at Lake Crystal Cemetery. Lake Crystal Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements. The service will be livestreamed and available at www.mankatomortuary.com.

Terrance Donald, the son of Paul and Rose (Pfeifer) Chesney, was born on October 17, 1943 in Owatonna. He graduated from Marion High School in Owatonna. Terry was employed at Owatonna Manufacturing as a purchasing agent. On May 23, 1975, he was united in marriage to Vicky Driscoll in Mason City, IA and they moved to Lake Crystal. He was employed at Crysteel as the Vice President of Operations for 32 years before his retirement. Terry was a member of the Lake Crystal Lions Club, Jaycees, School Board, and Economic Development. He also served on the Zion Lutheran Church Council. He enjoyed feeding the birds, deer hunting, and wood crafting. Terry loved his dogs and enjoyed giving them rides on their golf cart. He was an avid accordion player for various events in the community. Terry owned many classic cars and he spent winters with Vicky in Mesa, AZ.

He is survived by his wife, Vicky Chesney; sons, Chris (Dawn) Chesney of Owatonna, Greg Nelson of Lake Crystal, and Mark Nelson of Lino Lakes; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 nieces, Denise (Garry) Miller of Owatonna and Jackie (Denny) Hand of AZ; nephew, Doug Chesney of AZ; and best friend, his dog Abby.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Paul, Jr. (Lee) Chesney.
