Thomas R. Corcoran

Thomas “Tommy” R. Corcoran, 67, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 4th at Pleasant Manor in Faribault, MN following his battle with cancer.

Tom is survived by his seven siblings; sisters, Kathleen (Mike) Duffy, Susan Corcoran (Wayne Boucher), Mary (Chuck) Sinjem, and Caroline (Bryan) Kuha; brothers, Michael (Katie) Corcoran, Dennis Corcoran, and Kevin Corcoran; his ten nieces and nephews, Kalie Schultz, Ryan Duffy, Patty Corcoran, Taylor, Darby & Tanner Sinjem, Alex & Evan Corcoran, Brandon & Jordan Kuha, and his devoted friends, Jim Coughlan, Tom Robinson, Ken DeWitte, and Mike Aalid, who Tom loved dearly.

Born in Milwaukee, WI and raised in Mankato, MN, he was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Patricia Corcoran. He graduated from Mankato Loyola High School in 1973 and attended the University of Minnesota.  While in college, he founded Corcoran Insulation Company that soon became very successful.  In 1984, Tommy suffered a major head injury in a construction accident where he nearly died and remained in a coma for many days. His injury severely limited his physical abilities but did not diminish his strong spirit as he continued to work for the rest of his life. Tommy loved working at Capstone Press in Mankato and wanted everyone there to know how much his fellow employees meant to him.

Even though Tommy was taken too soon, he lived a life surrounded by his friends and family who adored him and enjoyed his upbeat view on life and his unlimited charm.

Much gratitude and thanks to the St. Croix Hospice team who provided extraordinary love and care for Tommy and his family. We deeply appreciate the care provided by the great people at Pleasant Manor in Faribault who kindly helped Tommy and his family during a very difficult time.  Please direct all memorials in memory of Tommy to the Animal Humane Society of Golden Valley - 845 Meadow Ln N, Golden Valley, MN 55422.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 10, 2022, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 632 S Broad St, Mankato, MN, 56001.   Visitation will be one hour before service. Masks required at visitation and in the sanctuary for service.  Interment in Gethsemane Cemetery, New Hope, MN. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
