US Army veteran, Thomas H. Zellmer, 91, of North Mankato, died Friday, December 30, 2022, at the Benedictine Living Community in Saint Peter.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 27, 2023, at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in North Mankato. Visitation will be held one hour before the service on Friday at the Church. Burial will be later at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery. Thomas was born September 24, 1931, in Bird Island, Minnesota. After graduating from Mankato High School and later attending the Technical College, Thomas enlisted into the US Army. He was honorably discharged in 1951.
Thomas worked for NSP/Xcel Energy Company as a plant superintendent in Mankato and retired after 38 years. He served as Belgrade Township Supervisor. Thomas was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was involved with the American Trap Shooting Association, Eagle Scouts, 4-H, and the Mankato YMCA.
Survivors include his wife, Iola Zellmer; son, Scot Zellmer; daughter, Lynn Gessner; stepsons, Jeff Langer and David Langer; stepdaughters, Patti Gordon, Debbie Hunt, Kathy Witty, Jolene Sanchez.
