Timothy Jon Derksen

Timothy "Tim" Derksen, 53, of Mankato passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026 at his home.

He was born May 7, 1973 in New Ulm, Minnesota, a son of David and Eloise (Johnson) Derksen. A graduate of New Ulm High School in 1991. He went on to live and work in Mankato.

To know Tim was to know a man full of high goals, good work ethic, and unwavering loyalty towards his beloved dog, Bailey. He had a lifelong passion for cooking and traveling, always ready to try something new. He spent many years working at Taylor Corporation in Mankato, taking immense pride in his work and had many career aspirations. He will be missed by those who knew him and remembered by those who knew his true spirit.

He is survived by his daughters, Sophia and Aydrianna; siblings, Gail (John) Apitz, Diane (Dan) Daugherty, Brian Derksen, Brad Derksen, Keith (Iris) Derksen, Kevin (Julie) Derksen, Sharon (Scott) Apitz, Larry (Jo) Derksen, and Kent (Jill) Derksen; 8 nieces and nephews; 10 great nieces and nephews; three aunts; one uncle; and numerous cousins; and special friend, Heather Salmi.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents; David and Eloise Derksen; grandparents, Jacob and Anna Derksen, and Roy and Marcella Johnson; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

While the loss is devastating, there is comfort knowing that Tim is at peace and free.

The public is welcome to join Tim's family at his graveside service on Saturday, June 20 at 11:00 a.m. at New Ulm City Cemetery.
