Todd J. Miller

December 18, 1971 — May 30, 2025

GRATEFUL TODD Gratefully born to Jerry and Sheila Meagher Miller on December 18, 1971 in Mankato MN.

Affectionately raised by his loving parents and five older siblings. Toddy’s youth was spent on the ripples of Lake Washington in the summer with his summer lake friends, and on the ice in the winter with a hockey stick in hand. The hockey passion was with him to the very end. Todd was a Mankato East graduate in 1990. While visiting Alaska in June of 1996 for his brother’s wedding in Girdwood, Todd decided he was not coming back to Minnesota, he found his new home. He lived remotely near his brother Tim with 350,000 acres of the Chugach Forest as their back yard. This made bear spray a necessity whenever on hikes, a casual bike ride to work or to his brother Tim’s home. Todd was adventurous doing overseas travels, traveling to wherever the Grateful Dead were playing, or wherever the climate would suit his clothes. Toddo was grateful for his family, friends, freedom, and no-one to hold him back. Teddly was grateful for his job at Essential One in Bird Creek Alaska. He was affectionately known as Essential Todd. We know that he created memories with the locals and with the tourists that would come through this unique little village on the Turnagain Arm in Alaska. He was thrilled when Mankato friends would stop in and say hi. Teddly, you will not fade away, you definitely knew the way, and now you are home. He’s Gone!

Todd is survived by his brothers Tim (Celia), Tom (Jill), Terry (Deb), sisters Tami (Paul), Tracy (Chad), several nieces, nephews and cousins. Todd was preceded in death by his parents and niece Katie.

Private family burial on Aug. 9, 2025 at Calvary Cemetery Mankato.
