Victoria “Vickie” Lynn (Larson) Haugesag, age 71, of Mankato, passed away on February 3, 2026, at the Mayo Clinic Health System – St. Marys Campus in Rochester. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially her family and friends. 

Vickie was born on March 16, 1954, in Saint Paul, MN, to Harold and Donna (Nielson) Larson. Growing up in Mankato and Garden City, she attended school in Mankato, where her bright spirit started shining early on. Vickie even ventured into cosmetology school, and in her younger years, she brought smiles to many as a hairstylist. 

Life took her on various journeys, including a relationship with Don Bidwell in the 1970s, which resulted in her beloved daughter, Lynette. Vickie spent time living in both Mankato and Des Moines, IA, before returning to her roots. In 1991, she married Jay Haugesag, and together they welcomed a son, Thomas. Though they eventually divorced in 2008. 

A true doer by nature, Vickie filled her free time with activities that showcased her creativity. She enjoyed gardening, canning, home decorating, and refinishing furniture, always keeping her hands busy and her heart full. Vickie was also active in her community. She was a past member of the American Legion Post 11 Auxiliary in Mankato and a life member of Morson-Ario-Strand Post 950 Auxiliary.

Vickie is survived by her daughter, Lynette Larson of Des Moines; son, Thomas Haugesag of Mankato; grandchildren, Brandon, Haley, Ryan, and Owen Shipley; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Larry Larson of Mankato, Debborah (Mike) Burgess of Lake Crystal, Mike Larson of Good Thunder, Pam Reichel of Brainerd, Donna Larson of Mankato, Sam Larson of Mankato, and Holly Larson of St. Cloud.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and siblings, Jim Larson, Jerry Larson, and Becca Coopman. 

A celebration of Vickie’s life will be held from 3-7pm, Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at the Morson-Ario-Strand VFW Post 950 in Mankato.
