Wendell Herbert Wenner

Wendell Herbert Wenner, 89, of Nicollet, died Thursday, January 8, 2026 at his home in Nicollet.

Visitation will be held from 4-7pm, Thursday, January 15, 2026 at St. Paul’s Church of Nicollet (410 5th Street, Nicollet, MN 56074). Mass will be 11am, Friday, January 16, 2026 at church with visitation one hour prior. Burial following at St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Nicollet. Wendell was born June 22, 1936 in Blue Earth County, Minnesota to Wendell and Anna (Hiniker) Wenner. He lived in Mapleton until his family moved to Nicollet County. After graduating from Nicollet High School, Wendell began farming with his dad. He later owned the Oshawa Elevator and drove truck until 2021. He was very involved with the community, and stayed active with St. Paul’s Church of Nicollet, Nicollet Public School, Nicollet City Council, and various ag-related boards and associations

He was united in marriage to Marlene Hopp on August 19, 1961, and they were blessed with a daughter, Wendy. Marlene passed away in 1988. Wendell later married Dot Hippe on September 23, 1995, and she passed in 2021.

Wendell is survived by his daughter, Wendy (Mike) Woessner; Dot’s children, Anna (Wayne) Folkert and JJ Krenzke; siblings, Kenny (Phyllis) Wenner and Donna Zins; sisters-in-law, Margaret Wenner and Jean Hopp; brother-in-law, Art (Sheila) Hopp; and many nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Marlene Wenner; second wife, Dot Hippe-Wenner; siblings, Gene (Betty) Wenner, Marianne (Butch) Sohre, Don (Ruth) Wenner, Mert Wenner, Skip (Margaret) Wenner, and Clete (Marlys) Wenner; and brothers-in-law, Paul Zins, John (Jacky) Hopp, Calvin (Doris) Hopp, Bob (Mavis) Hopp, and Harry Hopp.
