Robert "Bob" Nickels

Robert “Bob” Nickels, age 73, of North Mankato, died on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Oak Terrace Assisted Living, North Mankato.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 5:30 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022 at the Northview – North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato. Private family interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Mankato at a later date. The service will be livestreamed and available on Bob’s obituary page at www.mankatomortuary.com.

Robert Lester, the son of Elmer and Dorothy (Schultz) Nickels, was born on April 27, 1949 in Mankato. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1967. On August 31, 1979, he married Beverly Nourie at Church of St. Paul, Nicollet. Bob was employed at Mankato Corporation for over 40 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed bowling at Victory Bowl as well as playing softball and golfing. Bob adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly of North Mankato; daughters, Nicole (Darin) Marshik of Monticello and their children, Charlotte and Maike, Amanda (Mike) Burg of Nicollet and their children, Dextin and Xaiden, Molly (Nathan) Buesing of Kasota and Molly’s children, Austin, William and Wyatt Lien; siblings, Janet Carriere, Gary (Nancy) Nickels, DeWayne Nickels, DeEtta “Penny” (Jim) Steever, Dean Nickels, Beverly Kay Nickels, Laurie (Dennis) Daufenbac, and James (Tracy) Nickels; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Angela Marie Nickels; sisters, Sharon Nickels and Jolene Mutch; and sister in law, Karen Nickels.
