Memory Bear Gathering

When someone we love passes away, we are often left with cherished clothing that
holds deep memories. Deciding what to do with those items can be difficult. Our
Memory Bear Gathering offers a gentle and meaningful way to honor your loved one by
turning a favorite piece of their clothing into a huggable teddy bear—a keepsake you
can hold onto forever.

We ask you to bring:

• A clean clothing item made from fabric that doesn’t stretch, e.g., cotton t-
  shirt, broadcloth shirt or uniform, chambray (looks like denim, but lighter
  and softer), lightweight denim, lightweight twill, 100% cotton flannel, or
  poplin dress shirt.

There is no cost to participate. Volunteers will be on hand to do all the sewing. You’ll
help with choosing the fabric layout, cutting, stuffing, and adding personal touches.
Each bear will take three to four hours to make. No special skills are required—just your
presence and your memories.
